We first discovered these “skate shoes” a few years ago when my daughter was in the first grade. She explained to me that these new shoes could roll or be regular sneakers and she really, really wanted a pair. I did some research and at the time, the smallest size available was a size 1 youth. She was a size 11, but since heelys are a size small we only had one size to go!
A few kids at school had them, but they were quickly banned from school. Soon her feet had grown a 1/2 of a size and I agreed to buy her the Heelys. We looked and asked at many shoe stores. No one had them. My husband is in the military and was in Virginia…he looked in shoe stores….no pink girl heely’s in size one.
Zappo’s was selling the shoes online, but this was before the Canada Zappos so they wouldn’t ship to me. I decided to call around to some sport stores, and found one that actually had them in stock…and they were close to wear we lived. That afternoon she had her new Heelys and was the happiest kid on the block 
It took her a few days to learn to “heel”, and she wore full body armor. Within a week she was doing tricks and was a pro!
We are now on her third pair, and we’ve never had an accident. She wears them to the mall when we go shopping and just rolls along beside me. She’s been told in some stores that she cannot roll, but ahe hasn’t been told at the mall yet. She does start walking when a security guard comes into view…my little rebel on wheels!
